Handmade silk camera straps from Japan
Here we have something a bit different from the usual things that I post. I have started working with a really great bunch of guys here who produce their own camera straps. They have been working in the industry for years and have now decided to branch out on their own, bringing their knowledge and expertise with them. They have started a company making accessories for cameras and fashion. But the thing that I am interested in is the camera straps that they have been producing.

The thing that is special about these straps is that they are all handmade from Japanese silk from old Japanese kimonos. Each one of the straps is completely unique as each one is cut from a different piece of kimono cloth, so you know that the strap that you has is completely your own.
All of these straps are handmade to the highest standards, using only the best quality silk. They are adjustable and universal in size, so they fit most of the major camera brands. They are perfect for users of micro four thirds cameras and basic model SLR’s.

There are several colour options available, so it is usually better to specify what base colour you want as the design will change for each strap.
These straps are available on my ebay page, or you can get them through me directly. They are priced at 5000 yen each through me plus postage.

Can you show how they are adjustable? I just want to see what kind of adjuster they use.

The straps look amazing, but some more info like maximum and minimum lenght. And maybe some pics, on actual cameras. Would make it easier for me to decide if I want one.

I doubt there’s much chance of grabbing one of the ones in the image above. I think that black silk with the sakura would look hot on a black Bessa R I just snagged.

Thanks for the comment. I don’t have any black left. But I still have purple, red, pink, and green ones available. I am waiting until these are sold to get another batch. The purple looks especially good in my opinion.

Hi Bellamy,
I am interested in one of the silk camera straps for my missus, what colours are left, would prefer a red base colour. I lived in Japan for 12 months in 2008 and am a friend of Charlie Kirk. Let me know whats available and I’ll purchase via e-bay.
